WPP AI director DiDi_OK has unveiled a groundbreaking nine-minute sci-fi short film, crafted using Seedance 2.5 720P technology. Set in a future where Earth has evolved into a Type I civilization, the film features a surreal world with Saturn’s moon Pan looming in the sky and attackers transforming into candy.
DiDi_OK highlighted that Seedance 2.5 represents a major leap in fine-tuned customization, excelling in areas such as micro-animal simulation, vehicle dynamics, candy-inspired special effects, light-shadow integration, seamless transitions, large-scale animations, and extended shots. These advancements have unlocked full special effects capabilities in AI-generated imagery, granting creators unprecedented creative freedom and ushering AI filmmaking into a new era of personalized expression.
During the film’s production, traditional script storyboarding took a backseat, eliminating the need for a rigid, step-by-step creative workflow. Instead, by focusing on key plot turning points and timelines—while continuously testing and refining individual shots—the team ensured that every frame harmonized narrative, visual aesthetics, and emotional depth. In Seedance 2.5, prompt engineering emerged as the cornerstone of visual effects, enabling the realization of complex and abstract shots through precise textual descriptions.
DiDi_OK, a former 3D animator, once faced limitations due to rigid industry divisions that stifled his creative vision. Now, AI technology empowers him to adopt a ‘director-first’ approach, with his AI-driven projects amassing over 60 million views in just 16 months. He argues that in the AI age, creators can bypass cumbersome production pipelines to focus on direct storytelling, with narrative and expansive intellectual property (IP)—defined by a distinctive creative style—remaining at the heart of innovation.
