Despite escalating controversies over AI safety and regulation, Anthropic still plans to complete its IPO on Nasdaq by 2026. The company believes that discussions on AI safety, on the contrary, highlight the necessity of its listing, which will subject it to stricter disclosure and oversight. Anthropic has also committed to introducing third-party evaluations of its AI models and is considering slowing down the release pace of new models. Given the substantial funding requirements, slowing down model development may help improve its financial performance. In comparison, OpenAI is inclined to go public in 2027. Currently, the decline in the AI sector of the U.S. stock market has not yet had a significant impact on Anthropic's IPO plans.
