The General Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government has recently released the “Notice on the ‘15th Five-Year Plan’ for the Development of Guangzhou’s Marine Economy,” outlining a strategic push to bolster the marine electronic information sector. Key initiatives encompass:

  • Energetically advancing the development of products such as undersea wireless communication network terminals, marine underwater acoustic communication devices, marine observation and detection sensors, and marine detection radars.
  • Facilitating the profound integration of expansive satellite internet constellations with the marine industry, fostering the creation of satellite internet terminals and chips tailored to the marine environment, and establishing a satellite internet data service hub dedicated to the marine sector.
  • Pioneering the development of 5G+Beidou integrated navigation and space-air-ground-sea integrated networking technologies.
  • Constructing a foundational large-scale marine AI model, crafting specialized large-scale models for marine exploration, aquaculture, shipping, and other domains, nurturing an industry centered on “AI+marine” application services and solutions, and ultimately forming a complete industrial chain closed loop—spanning from perception to data, model, service, and transaction.
