On September 13th local time, artificial intelligence aerospace technology company Space42 and Viasat signed an agreement to jointly build the 'Equatys' platform. This platform integrates space and ground infrastructure, aiming to provide mobile coverage and overlay network support for areas not covered by ground networks. Space42 and Viasat will each make an initial investment of $400 million, with Space42 expected to invest an additional $200 million in future equity financing rounds open to third-party investors. Viasat is expected to become the primary technology contractor for Equatys.
