Primitive Rhythm, a company established by Wang Yunhe—previously the director of Huawei's Noah's Ark Lab and the head of the Pangu large model project—has recently launched its inaugural Agent-Native model, NeoHorse. This model is available in two configurations: 4B and 9B. InfiniGene offers computational support and infrastructure optimization for NeoHorse, while a collaborative team from Tsinghua and Peking University contributed to the research on algorithms and training methodologies. NeoHorse leverages the multi-model execution expertise that Primitive Rhythm has amassed through Routing Harness, transforming it into model capabilities. The core corpus of NeoHorse integrates Agent execution signals generated by Routing Harness with publicly available data, undergoing rigorous training processes that include data screening, curriculum learning guided by routing, and On-Policy Distillation.

The 4B version of NeoHorse has achieved state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance among models of its scale, with notable enhancements in Agent tasks that are clearly defined and verifiable. Primitive Rhythm currently offers a four-tiered product line, encompassing the OpenSquilla open-source version, TokenRhythm API, enterprise service and deployment capabilities, and the NeoHorse model. This lineup forms a comprehensive cycle: RoutingHarness bridges tasks with developers, TokenRhythm API aligns model supply with demand, the trajectories accumulated by Harness are utilized for training, and the updated models are seamlessly reintegrated into Harness.

Primitive Rhythm has successfully completed a single-round engineering validation for the Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI) approach. The uniqueness of this endeavor lies in the model's neutrality and its ability to leverage cross-model horizontal data. However, the company acknowledges that future challenges persist, including verifying the conversion of the open-source ecosystem, acquiring high-quality trajectories, and ensuring the sustainability of capability gains. Additionally, Primitive Rhythm faces competitive pressures from model vendors pursuing vertical integration strategies.
