The newspapers highlighted that the AI products developed by the defendants are capable of reproducing their news excerpts, delivering condensed summaries of articles, and providing direct answers to users. This, they argue, diminishes the incentive for users to visit their websites or subscribe to their services. Consequently, "The Seattle Times" and "Newsday" are petitioning the court to mandate the destruction of any copies of their works, along with training datasets or AI models that incorporate these works.
