Saudi Arabian AI enterprise HUMAIN has proudly introduced its inaugural large-scale Arabic language model, HUMAIN M3. This model is the result of rigorous localized training, built upon the open-source flagship MiniMax M3 model from China's MiniMax company. This achievement signifies a pioneering moment, as it is the first instance where Chinese large model technology has directly underpinned the development of a local model overseas. Backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, HUMAIN boasts a comprehensive presence across the entire AI value chain. The HUMAIN M3 model features a hybrid expert architecture boasting 428 billion parameters and integrates over a trillion Arabic language tokens, significantly enhancing its core functionalities. In seven rigorous Arabic benchmark tests, the model attained an impressive average score of 89.37%, demonstrating its adaptability to diverse Middle Eastern dialects and its proficiency in generating text across multiple scenarios. MiniMax M3, recognized as the world's first native multimodal open-source model, has witnessed a remarkable surge in popularity, surpassing 10 million downloads since its June release this year, with a notable 41% of users hailing from overseas markets. Presently, Chinese AI firms are transitioning their global expansion strategies from mere API interface exports to more profound collaborations, including involvement in the construction of overseas model infrastructures. On the Hugging Face platform, Chinese AI models now command a 41% share of downloads, marking a historic milestone by overtaking the United States for the first time. The successful deployment of HUMAIN M3 underscores the potential of Chinese open-source models to serve as the bedrock for localized R&D efforts abroad. This collaborative approach is anticipated to generate a demonstration effect in the Middle East, offering Chinese AI companies a fresh blueprint for navigating international markets.
