On Thursday, three prominent U.S.-based large model companies—OpenAI, Anthropic PBC, and SpaceXAI—encountered service outages, causing significant disruptions for numerous users. The outage monitoring platform Downdetector was inundated with tens of thousands of user reports concerning failures at OpenAI. OpenAI has announced that it is actively probing into the unexpected spike in error rates affecting its ChatGPT chatbot and Codex AI coding tool. Meanwhile, Anthropic has confirmed that the errors reported for several of its models have been rectified, though it continues to work on resolving service irregularities with Opus 4.8 and Opus 5. Additionally, SpaceXAI's service status page revealed that its chatbot Grok also suffered a service interruption.
