On September 3, according to reports from Downdetector, a website monitoring internet status, several major artificial intelligence platforms experienced service disruptions on Thursday morning local time, including OpenAI, Claude, Grok, and Cursor. Claude displayed an error message stating, 'Unable to respond to messages due to unexpected capacity constraints. Please try again later.' Grok indicated, 'Currently experiencing issues and working to restore service,' as well as, 'This model is temporarily unavailable. Please try another model.' Downdetector users first reported service outages for Grok and Claude around 9:00 AM Eastern Time (21:00 Beijing Time), while issues with OpenAI were reported around 10:30 AM Eastern Time (22:30 Beijing Time).
