On September 3, Liu Jie, Deputy Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Zhejiang Province, highlighted during his research into the growth of Hangzhou’s artificial intelligence (AI) industry that the sector is currently experiencing rapid expansion. He emphasized the importance of actively advancing the research and development of general-purpose and vertical domain large-scale models, expediting the deployment of AI agents, and constructing high-quality datasets to enhance the capabilities of various industries. Simultaneously, there is a need to unlock more high-value application scenarios to foster the widespread and commercial utilization of AI, propel the coordinated advancement of the entire industrial chain—encompassing chips, large-scale models, agents, and application services—and expedite the conversion of innovative achievements into practical outcomes. Furthermore, it is crucial to deepen the integration of 'AI + manufacturing,' support technological upgrades and the fusion of digital and physical components within enterprises, and attain green, intelligent, and integrated development. The government will bolster factor support, steer long-term capital investments, coordinate computing power services, reinforce intellectual property protection, and nurture interdisciplinary talent to forge a premier innovation ecosystem for AI.
