ByteDance is gearing up to secure a substantial syndicated loan amounting to approximately US$29.6 billion. Initially, the company set its sights on raising US$20 billion. However, due to an overwhelming response from banks, with keen subscription levels, the final loan amount has been significantly increased. These funds are earmarked for general corporate use. It's important to note that the transaction has not yet been officially inked, and banks are still in the process of finalizing their respective allocation amounts.

Once finalized, this loan will rank as the second-largest US dollar-denominated syndicated loan in Asia for the current year. It will come in second only to SoftBank Group's massive US$40 billion bridge loan secured in March. ByteDance is on an acceleration spree, ramping up its investments in the AI sector. The company is contemplating boosting its capital expenditures to a staggering US$70 billion by 2026. This figure represents more than double the amount spent last year, with the primary focus being on expanding data centers and bolstering other AI infrastructure.

It's worth mentioning that ByteDance's last significant offshore loan was secured in 2024, when it raised approximately US$10.8 billion. As of the time of going to press, ByteDance had not issued any response.
