On September 3, foreign media outlets reported that US Secretary of Commerce Lutnick disclosed that artificial intelligence firm Anthropic and the Trump administration have mended their relationship, putting an end to months of discord over national security matters. Lutnick mentioned that, despite earlier public clashes, Anthropic ultimately 'came to terms.' Both Trump and other government officials played a role in narrowing the gap, securing the company's backing, and now, both parties have come to an understanding. Previously, in June, the US Department of Commerce briefly imposed export restrictions on two of Anthropic's premier AI models. However, these limitations were removed two weeks later, following Anthropic's efforts to address national security worries.
