On September 2, Dell (DELL.N) significantly raised its annual sales forecast by up to $25 billion, surpassing analysts' expectations and further highlighting the robust demand for servers required to run artificial intelligence tasks. Dell announced on Tuesday that it expects revenue for the fiscal year ending January 2027 to reach approximately $192 billion, with AI server sales projected at $74 billion. This forecast not only exceeds the company's May estimate of about $167 billion but also surpasses analysts' average expectation of $173.8 billion. Dell anticipates that AI server sales will triple compared to the previous fiscal year. Notably, this marks the fifth consecutive quarter that Dell has raised its fiscal year revenue forecast and exceeded market expectations. Amid the rapid growth in AI demand, Dell continues to secure orders for servers equipped with NVIDIA AI chips, while demand for traditional servers also grows steadily. As a result, Dell's stock price rose nearly 10% in after-hours trading on the U.S. stock market.
