The National Radio and Television Administration announced that several major online audio-visual platforms have disclosed information regarding the special rectification campaign targeting AI-manipulated videos conducted in August 2026. Nearly 14,000 videos that violated regulations were removed, and over 30 accounts involved in such violations were addressed. Since its inception in January 2026, this targeted rectification initiative has yielded tangible outcomes. Furthermore, it has transitioned into a phase of standardized and institutionalized governance starting from February 1. The Administration has called upon platforms to fulfill their core responsibilities, with a particular emphasis on eliminating AI-manipulated videos that infringe upon classic film and television works as well as cultural animations, thereby promoting a wholesome online audio-visual environment.
