On September 1, 2026, the "Provisions on Fostering the Innovative Development of the Brain-Computer Interface Industry in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (Draft for Public Feedback)" were unveiled for public review and comment. These provisions put forward that the Shenzhen Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, in tandem with relevant industrial departments, should institute a tiered development system tailored for brain-computer interface enterprises, along with a comprehensive, lifecycle-spanning service framework. Concurrently, municipal industrial authorities will team up with entities like the industry and information technology department, local financial regulatory bodies, market oversight agencies, commerce departments, planning and natural resources departments, as well as pertinent districts, to create a nurturing pool for leading brain-computer interface technology firms. Such initiatives are designed to empower these frontrunners to spearhead the formation of innovation consortia, undertake research on pivotal core technologies, streamline industrial supply chains, engage in mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring, and venture into international markets. Additionally, they will receive support in areas such as R&D funding, access to application scenarios, and land use assurances.
