Huawei unveiled its financial results for the first half of 2026, showing a revenue of 467.819 billion yuan, which represents a notable year-on-year surge of 9.54%. Despite this positive trend in revenue, the net profit attributable to the owners of the parent company declined to 23.428 billion yuan, experiencing a year-on-year drop of 36.8%.
During the first half of the year, Huawei's investment in research and development soared to 121.382 billion yuan, marking a significant 25.2% increase compared to the same period last year. This substantial investment accounted for nearly 26% of its total revenue. Additionally, administrative expenses climbed to 30.120 billion yuan, a 24.4% rise year-on-year. Notably, the growth rates of both R&D and administrative expenses outpaced that of revenue.
This development is in line with Huawei's earlier strategy to ramp up R&D investment in strategic domains such as connectivity and computing. The company is integrating AI and security technologies into its products and networks, while also fostering an industrial ecosystem. This approach underscores Huawei's unwavering commitment to technological innovation and its resolve to overcome challenges.
