On Monday, OpenAI and Microsoft—longstanding collaborators—both encountered disruptions in their primary services, though there is currently no indication that the two incidents are related. OpenAI announced that its enterprise-grade AI platform, ChatGPT Work, faced elevated error rates and delays lasting around three hours. Meanwhile, Microsoft experienced a breakdown in its Exchange Online service. According to the outage-monitoring site Downdetector, as of 2:24 PM Eastern Time on Monday, more than 1,100 users had reported problems with OpenAI's offerings. Shortly after, the number of reports concerning Microsoft Outlook surged to nearly 4,600, with both services seeing peak issue volumes earlier in the day.
