On August 31st, reports emerged that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recently issued Announcement No. 18 of 2026, officially endorsing a suite of industry standards tailored for large-scale model platforms. Among these standards is the Technical Requirements for Large-Scale Model Data Processing Platforms in Key Foundational Technologies of Artificial Intelligence, which was formulated under the guidance of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology. These standards encompass pivotal domains such as large-scale model data processing, model training, model inference, computational resource allocation, and operations and maintenance.

Notably, four of these standards are set to take effect on November 1, 2026. The introduction of these standards marks a significant milestone, as they address the existing void in systematic guidelines for large-scale model platforms within China. By providing authoritative benchmarks, they will facilitate the research and development, construction, assessment, and selection processes of large-scale model platforms. Furthermore, these standards are poised to steer the industry towards standardized development, thereby elevating the overall technological prowess and service capabilities of China's foundational large-scale model platforms.
