Anthropic has issued warnings to some Claude users, stating that information-stealing malware on their computers has stolen active Claude login sessions, allowing attackers to bypass normal login procedures to access accounts and steal usage data. Anthropic is signing out affected users from Claude, removing saved payment methods, and refunding unauthorized charges. The malware is of a general type, unrelated to Claude, and often enters devices through means such as downloading pirated content, including various types like Vidar and Atomic Stealer. Anthropic urges affected users to change their account credentials, revoke other sessions, and remove the malware.
