On August 27, 2026, Anthropic announced the launch of a built-in browser for the Cowork mode in the Claude desktop application, supporting web browsing, form filling, data extraction, and other operations without the need for extensions or additional configurations. This feature is now being rolled out to Pro, Max, and Team users starting this week, allowing the import of login information from browsers such as Chrome and Edge. However, banking and email websites will not be imported by default. Enterprise administrators can enable it immediately.
