At Gamescom 2026, NVIDIA expanded its DLSS technology stack with the official launch of DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction. Leveraging a second-generation Transformer model, the technology is now available in early access via the NVIDIA App, supporting all GeForce RTX 20-series and later RTX graphics cards. DLSS 4.5 aims to enhance image quality in ray-traced and path-traced scenes by replacing traditional denoisers with an AI network, integrating denoising and super-resolution functions to intelligently analyze spatial-temporal data for reconstructing clearer, more stable, and high-fidelity images. Improvements include a 35% boost in computational power and a 20% increase in parameter processing for an efficient denoiser, enhanced super-resolution with deeper spatial awareness, and training models based on larger datasets. Additionally, the technology provides developers with more refined tuning tools. As of its release, 27 games support DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, including Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk 2077.
