On August 26, foreign media reported that South Korean AI service provider Wrtn Technologies has successfully completed a funding round, achieving a valuation of KRW 1.2 trillion (approximately $870 million) to fuel its global expansion plans. The Seoul-headquartered startup revealed that it has raised around KRW 100 billion in its Series C funding, bringing its cumulative funding to date to KRW 230 billion.

Since its launch in May, Wrtn's North American AI storytelling platform, OOC, has been performing remarkably well, generating monthly revenues exceeding KRW 10 billion. This innovative platform enables users to either create or immerse themselves in fictional worlds, interacting with AI-driven characters for an engaging experience. Wrtn anticipates that its annual revenue will surpass KRW 200 billion this year, marking a substantial increase from the previous year.
