On August 26th, The Wall Street Journal reported that Anthropic, in its upcoming initial public offering (IPO) filing, revealed to investors that its potential market size is expected to exceed $30 trillion. This projection surpasses SpaceX’s earlier estimate of $28.5 trillion. Anthropic is utilizing the concept of the 'Total Addressable Market' (TAM) to underscore the vast growth prospects within the AI industry and to assess the overall workload that AI models can manage in the future. It is noteworthy that SpaceX had previously described its TAM as the 'largest addressable market in human history,' with AI opportunities valued at $26.5 trillion. Financial records indicate that Anthropic’s revenue in the second quarter exceeded $11.6 billion, marking a doubling from the preceding period. The company aims to raise up to $100 billion through this IPO, targeting a valuation of roughly $2 trillion, which is higher than SpaceX’s valuation of $1.77 trillion at the time of its listing. At present, the listing plans are still under deliberation, with an anticipated launch as early as September or October.
