Alibaba DAMO Academy, working hand-in-hand with institutions like Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University, has co-developed an AI model tailored for liver cancer diagnosis, known as DAMO LiON. This cutting-edge model excels at precisely pinpointing even the most minute liver cancer lesions through CT scans. During a two-month clinical trial conducted in real-world settings, DAMO LiON successfully identified 15 malignant tumors that had previously gone undetected. The majority of these overlooked tumors were minuscule, measuring around 1 centimeter in diameter, allowing patients to promptly undergo surgery or receive appropriate drug treatment. The groundbreaking research findings have been featured in the prestigious international academic journal, Nature Medicine.
