On August 20, during the 2026 World Robot Conference, Wang Xingxing, the founder and chairman of Unitree Technology, delivered a keynote speech entitled "From Exhibits to Products: Charting the Next Decade of the Humanoid Robot Industry." He highlighted that the company has long been dedicated to seamlessly integrating robots into everyday life. This includes deploying robots in automotive factories and carrying out basic tests within its own facilities. Concurrently, the AI team is also actively exploring the potential of robots for household use. However, given the present constraints in overall efficiency and versatility of robots, Unitree Technology has refrained from pursuing large-scale promotion. Wang Xingxing projected that realizing the ChatGPT moment for embodied AI could ideally occur within 2-3 years, though it might extend to 5-10 years. He clarified that this moment signifies robots' ability to successfully accomplish approximately 80% of tasks in 80% of unfamiliar environments through voice or text commands. Presently, the paramount challenge lies in harmonizing the input and output of large AI models with the operational capabilities of real-world robots.
