Earlier this year, Demis Hassabis, co-founder of Google DeepMind, urged peers to retract overly confident pessimistic predictions. As OpenAI and Anthropic are expected to go public, public attitudes toward AI have shifted from pessimism to optimism. However, Amodei said on Saturday that he does not believe his warnings are the root cause of public distrust in AI.
