After a period of executive turmoil, OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar met with investors on Friday to highlight the company's growth in the enterprise market. She stated that revenue from enterprise business has surpassed that of consumer business, led by ChatGPT. Friar noted that the growth momentum primarily comes from the GPT-5.6 series models, the new enterprise-grade agent ChatGPT Work, and the rising adoption rate of the AI programming tool Codex. Currently, OpenAI is facing fierce competition from Anthropic and Google, while also contending with the impact of low-cost open-source models from China. To support its massive infrastructure expansion plans, OpenAI aims to invest approximately $600 billion cumulatively in computing power by 2030 and is negotiating with Nvidia for $250 billion in funding to support its plan to lease large-scale AI data centers in Ohio.
