On August 13, a research report from Huatai Securities highlighted that, in terms of demand, the escalating expansion of AI computing capabilities is significantly boosting the power consumption of optical modules. Owing to its exceptional properties, including high thermal conductivity, superior insulation, and excellent thermal adaptability, aluminum nitride is poised to become a critical material for optical modules. Huatai Securities forecasts that by 2027, the demand for high-end aluminum nitride powder, driven by optical modules, will surpass 2,000 tons.

On the supply front, Japanese companies are grappling with constrained raw material supplies due to rare earth regulations, while the downstream market demand continues to surge. This disparity between supply and demand is likely to propel prices upward. Meanwhile, domestic companies are vigorously expanding their production capacities and securing client bases, thereby presenting significant opportunities for localized substitution.
