The medical AI system AMIE, jointly developed by Google Research and Google DeepMind, is based on the Gemini and Project Astra architectures and employs a multi-agent collaboration model, demonstrating expert-level capabilities in real-time clinical video consultations. The system can integrate visual and auditory cues to guide virtual physical examinations and perform real-time reasoning. A randomized controlled study simulating consultations showed that its core clinical capabilities received professional recognition, with patients reporting a more user-friendly video consultation experience. Currently, AMIE is still in the academic research phase, and significant validation is required for clinical deployment, but it has already demonstrated the potential for intelligent healthcare.
