The creator behind the indie game Operation Octo has recently captured significant online attention. According to the developer, when a player inquired with Google AI about the yet-to-be-released update content for the game, the AI inadvertently disclosed a character name that had not yet been announced: 'Vantage Tripod.' The developer clarified that this particular name was exclusively stored in their private Google Docs document and had never been shared publicly. They speculated that due to the game's relatively small player base and limited online presence, the AI was able to provide what they described as 'genuine and concerning' leaked information.

In response, Google clarified its stance, asserting that it does not utilize private Workspace materials, such as Drive files and Docs, to train its foundational AI models. However, the company also took the opportunity to remind users to remain vigilant about the sharing permission settings on their Drive accounts to prevent unintended access to sensitive information.
