On August 5, as reported by the Sci-Tech Innovation Board Daily, Kimi, a product of Moonshot AI, has officially kicked off its Series G (Pre-IPO) funding phase, boasting a valuation of $50 billion in this round. After the unveiling of the K3 model, investment quotas have become fiercely contested, with numerous institutions promptly registering their investment intentions. However, the exact timeline for the subsequent closing remains pending.
This funding round has established specific investment criteria, mandating participants to finalize their payments by August 15. To secure a direct spot on the company's shareholder registry, investors are required to oversee assets surpassing $500 million. Assuming a standard industry dilution rate of roughly 10% per funding round, the anticipated fundraising amount for this round hovers around $6 billion.
Moonshot AI recently concluded the full closing of its preceding funding round at a valuation of $31.5 billion, successfully raising $3.5 billion in actual capital. The Series G funding will mark its ultimate private equity round prior to going public. Subsequently, the company is poised to list on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, potentially within the next six months.
