According to a Cnet report, three weeks after Apple initiated a trade secret lawsuit, OpenAI formally responded via a blog post, asserting that Apple's legal action is reckless, aggressive, and emotionally charged. Earlier, Apple alleged that its former employees, Chang Liu and Tang Tan, had improperly accessed its proprietary technology following their departure from the company. In response, OpenAI contended that Apple's internal security management was flawed, citing issues such as inadequate employee permission controls. These lapses, OpenAI argued, prompted current employees to take the initiative in contacting former staff to acquire files and permitted ex-employees to retain access to confidential information through lingering permissions.
