On August 4th, ModelBest, in a collaborative effort with the OpenBMB open-source community, unveiled and opensourced ForgeStencil—the world's inaugural large-scale closed-loop AI system designed for 'automated research and deployment', optimized through the utilization of Stencil (stencil computation). Practical testing outcomes reveal that, under identical precision (fp32) conditions, ForgeStencil attains a geometric mean acceleration of 2.35 times. In mixed-precision mode, it achieves an even greater acceleration, with an additional 1.95 times boost. In real-world application scenarios, the system demonstrates outstanding performance, accelerating the general CAE solver hypre by 3.86 times, electromagnetic simulation FDTD by 2.47 times, and reaching up to a remarkable 5.78 times acceleration in neutron transport calculations (minisweep) for nuclear reactors.
