NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated in a media interview that the US should not fear China's open-source AI models but should instead be cautious about restricting open-source collaboration with China. In response to the market panic triggered by Moonshot AI's release of Kimi K3, Huang argued that Wall Street and Washington are interpreting the situation incorrectly. He emphasized that China has the capability to independently develop chips, and restrictions will only accelerate its self-sufficiency efforts. Huang also noted that AI computing power is a combination of chips and energy, and China can compensate for performance gaps in individual chips by scaling up chip clusters.
