On July 21 (local time), Google DeepMind unveiled three innovative models: Gemini 3.6 Flash, Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, and Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber. These models are designed to deliver enhanced speed, superior intelligence, and cost-efficiency. Nevertheless, the intelligence enhancements did not fully meet expectations, resulting in mixed reviews. Notably, Gemini 3.6 Flash underperformed in front-end code generation and spatial reasoning tasks, earning it the title of the 'weakest yet'. Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, while fast, is prone to inaccuracies. Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, on the other hand, is tailored specifically for cybersecurity applications. Meanwhile, the flagship model, Gemini 3.5 Pro, remains pending release, and Google's models have now dropped out of the top ten in the rankings.
