Recently, a paper titled "PROGRA: Progress-Aware Reinforcement Learning for Multi-Turn Function Calling", authored by Yin Wen of the School of Artificial Intelligence and the research group led by Weinan Zhang from the School of Computer Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was awarded the SAC Highlight Award at the ACL conference. This research addresses the challenge of multi-turn function calling in large language model agents by innovatively introducing the PROGRA framework—a progress-aware reinforcement learning approach. This framework enhances the model's ability to accurately interpret task states and strategize subsequent actions during ongoing interactions, enabling more stable execution of complex tool-calling tasks.
