In alignment with the newly enforced “Interim Measures for the Management of AI Personalized Interactive Services,” which came into effect on July 15, two of China’s leading AI applications, Doubao (operated by ByteDance) and Tongyi Qianwen (operated by Alibaba), are set to discontinue their customizable personalized agent (AI agent) functionalities. Notably, Tongyi Qianwen will gradually phase out these features in two stages on July 10 and July 15, whereas Doubao will officially cease offering this function starting from July 15. Once these features are removed, users will lose access to both the related settings and their historical conversation records. Doubao advises its users to safeguard their important data by capturing screenshots or exporting text files before October 15.
