California Governor Gavin Newsom has established a collaborative partnership with the AI firm Anthropic, with the goal of extensively introducing the Claude series of large-scale model products throughout various tiers of California's government at a discounted procurement rate. The Claude model is set to become the inaugural AI tool available to all state departments as well as local governments in cities and counties throughout California. Earlier, Anthropic encountered disagreements with the Trump administration, which led to limitations on the promotion of its advanced models and its designation as a national supply chain risk entity. The partnership with Governor Newsom's administration is intended to cut down on the expenses associated with AI implementation in governmental operations and to encourage the broad integration of the Claude model. Under the terms of this agreement, state government departments and cities and counties in California that choose to participate can avail themselves of a 50% reduction in price when acquiring this chatbot. Additionally, Anthropic will offer complimentary human training sessions and dedicated technical support services.
