On June 13, 2026, AMD unveiled its Ryzen AI Halo mini PC—powered by the Strix Halo platform—and opened pre-orders exclusively at U.S. retailer Micro Center, with a price tag of $3,999. Tailored for AI developers, this compact powerhouse features a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor (built on the cutting-edge Zen 5 architecture with 16 cores and 32 threads), Radeon 8060S integrated graphics, a substantial 128GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory, and a spacious 2TB SSD for storage.

Despite its robust specs, the system maintains a compact form factor, measuring just 149×149×43.18mm. Encased in a sleek aluminum alloy chassis, it offers a versatile array of connectivity options, including three USB-C ports, an HDMI 2.1 output, a 10GbE Ethernet port, and a USB-C power input. For wireless connectivity, it supports the latest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 standards. Developers can choose between Windows 11 Professional or Linux as their pre-installed operating system.

The standout feature of this mini PC is its ability to run large-scale AI models locally, supporting up to 200 billion parameters. It provides comprehensive AMD ROCm software support, ensuring seamless compatibility with mainstream development tools and frameworks. Furthermore, it comes optimized for popular models like GPT-OSS and FLUX.2, enabling developers to work efficiently without relying on cloud services.

AMD highlights that the Ryzen AI Halo mini PC outperforms rivals such as the NVIDIA DGX Spark and Apple Mac Mini M4 Pro in terms of raw performance, token generation efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. By leveraging this machine, developers can significantly reduce their reliance on expensive cloud services, with the potential to achieve cost recovery within just six months.
