On May 30, a coalition of government bodies—including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the Ministry of Commerce—jointly unveiled a suite of national standards, titled Technical Specifications for Artificial Intelligence Terminal Intelligence Grading. This groundbreaking standard introduces, for the first time, a comprehensive AI capability grading system for seven key terminal product categories: smartphones, personal computers, televisions, and automotive cockpits, among others. The system adopts a '2+N' structural framework, where '2' signifies a unified foundational reference model and overarching requirements, while 'N' delineates specific, category-tailored grading criteria for each of the seven terminal types. Within this framework, AI terminal intelligence is classified into four distinct levels, spanning from L1 (Basic Responsiveness) to L4 (Advanced Collaboration), thereby ushering in a new era of standardized progression for the AI terminal sector.
