On Friday, the South Korean government declared its intention to implement a suite of strategies aimed at fortifying the cybersecurity defense mechanisms within the private sector. This initiative was introduced during the 9th Science and Technology Ministers' Conference. Given the swift advancements in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI), the pace at which software vulnerabilities are identified and exploited has accelerated, resulting in a notable uptick in the spread of these vulnerabilities. To counteract this trend, the South Korean government plans to set up an emergency response framework under the aegis of the National Security Office. This system will harness AI technology to swiftly detect and rectify software vulnerabilities, as well as collaborate on tackling cybersecurity threats.
