Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman recently shared screenshots of the new iOS 27 Siri app and the 'Search or Ask' function interface, restored based on internal information. According to the screenshots, Apple has significantly upgraded Siri, transforming it from a traditional voice assistant into an 'AI secretary' capable of sustained conversations. The new version of Siri adopts a standalone app format, supporting the viewing of historical conversations, initiating new sessions, and handling multimodal content, with an interaction logic that rivals ChatGPT. Visually, the new Siri features a black background with colorful highlights, offering only a dark mode suitable for nighttime use. In terms of interaction, Siri is deeply integrated with the iPhone's 'Dynamic Island.' When users awaken (should be translated as 'activate' in the final version, kept as is here for demonstration) Siri, the Dynamic Island will display a pill-shaped animation and glowing labels, with query results popping up in a semi-transparent panel and supporting a swipe-down to enter a continuous conversation interface. Additionally, Apple is testing a new system-wide search entry point, allowing users to swipe down from the center-top of the screen to bring up the 'Search or Ask' bar, enabling dual input via text and voice. To enhance its underlying reasoning capabilities, Apple has partnered with Google, integrating the Gemini model into the new Siri, achieving breakthroughs in complex task processing, contextual understanding, and online search.
