LinkedIn is taking new measures to combat hollow spam content that is clearly generated by AI, such as content designed to induce interaction, repackaged thought leadership content, and generalized articles lacking in authenticity and originality. LinkedIn will focus on identifying AI-generated posts and comments featuring meaningless expressions like 'This is not X, but Y'. By analyzing user activity patterns, LinkedIn will assess the value of the content and, upon identification, will no longer recommend relevant posts through timelines. However, the followers and connections of the poster will still be able to see them. LinkedIn does not oppose the use of AI tools for content creation, but it is specifically targeting valueless spam content. If an article contains original ideas or can spark meaningful discussions, its creation using AI tools is permitted.
