According to a Bloomberg report on May 22, the three founders of Manus—Xiao Hong, Ji Yichao, and Zhang Tao—are discussing raising approximately $1 billion in external financing to buy back the company from Meta, with a valuation at least matching Meta's previous acquisition offer of $2-3 billion. If the financing is successful, Manus will establish a joint venture and prepare for an IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Previously, the foreign acquisition of the Manus project had been prohibited by Chinese regulators. Currently, the deal still faces challenges such as technology divestiture and capital structure reorganization, but it has already attracted attention from large industrial funds and strategic investors.
