On May 22, Li Chao, the Deputy Director of the Policy Research Office at the National Development and Reform Commission, announced at a press conference that the Commission will adhere to the strategic layout outlined in the '15th Five-Year Plan' and strive to drive high-quality development in the realm of embodied AI. This will be achieved by prioritizing the development of crucial infrastructure for embodied AI. The specific strategies encompass: expediting the establishment of infrastructure dedicated to embodied AI training, thereby enhancing support for the collection of embodied data and the training of 'large and small brain' models. This move aims to bolster the versatile capabilities of embodied AI across diverse scenarios and promote the seamless integration of robots into various sectors, including factories, shopping malls, and residential settings. Concurrently, the Commission will also focus on accelerating the development of pilot bases for embodied AI applications, refining the software and hardware ecosystem, fostering stronger collaboration with training infrastructure, and hastening technological innovation and the deployment of applications.
