If the agreement is finalized, it will mark a significant achievement for Microsoft, especially considering that its in-house chip development project had previously faced delays. At present, Nvidia's AI chips dominate the market for Microsoft's computational facility rentals aimed at AI developers. By following the lead of cloud service rivals like Google and Amazon, Microsoft is actively pursuing the development of its own alternative chips to compete with Nvidia's offerings.
