Meta has initiated a new round of massive layoffs to cope with the substantial investment costs in the field of artificial intelligence. According to an internal email, the layoffs aim to enhance operational efficiency and free up resources for other investments. Meta plans to reduce its workforce by approximately 10%, or about 7,800 employees, and close 6,000 open positions. Meanwhile, the company is shifting resources towards the AI sector, including reassigning 7,000 employees to AI-related projects.
