A U.S. civil rights group is filing a lawsuit against xAI for its extensive use of gas turbines at data centers in the southern United States, but xAI still plans to continue expanding such equipment over the next three years. According to IPO documents filed by SpaceX on Wednesday, xAI expects to spend approximately $2.8 billion on gas turbines for AI infrastructure, including an order for 'mobile gas turbines' worth about $2 billion—the very type of equipment at the center of the lawsuit.
