On April 17 (local time), xAI announced the official launch of Speech-to-Text (STT) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) APIs for the Grok platform, opening them up to developers. This move aims to provide high-fidelity, low-latency voice interaction services, supporting a more natural voice conversation experience. The newly added APIs cover key aspects of voice interaction, enabling developers to build related functionalities and integrate them with existing text conversation capabilities to form an end-to-end voice conversation process. Previously, xAI had already provided Grok-related APIs, and the newly added voice capabilities further expand the applications of the Grok platform in the field of multimodal interaction. However, xAI has not yet announced specific billing criteria, available languages, or model version coverage for the STT and TTS APIs.
