On April 17, 2026, Perplexity announced the full availability of Personal Computer, an AI agent system designed specifically for Mac users, to all subscribers of Perplexity Max service and those on the waitlist. This system is deeply integrated into the Perplexity Mac app, enabling secure coordination of local files, native applications, and browsers, as well as cross-application interactions across iMessage, Apple Mail, and more. When deployed on a Mac mini, it can operate continuously in the background 24/7 and supports remote task initiation from an iPhone. Currently, this feature is exclusively available to Perplexity Max subscribers (priced at $200 per month).
